Friday, December 2: Christian Perfection

trophies are there to accumulate dust.  they serve nothing but bring back memories of an achievement or victory.  but why dwell on the past?  we should always be making news, scoring victories every day.

what matters are the triumphs we make now and tomorrow.

in the same way, a tarnished past is best left buried and forgotten.  we don’t live there anymore.  we come to Jesus and our slate is clean.

“i would rather be of use.  God’s purpose is not to perfect me to make me a trophy in His showcase; He is getting me to the place where He can use me. Let Him do what He wants.”  — My Utmost For His Highest

“my Lord, i lift myself up to You.  bless the ‘us’ part because it is the only way i can seize perfection and be with You eternally.”
