i learned something quite important today. when we come upon the truth of God, confess we are wrong, and allow it to lead us to action, we leave the devil powerless over us.
wow, how neat is that!
but what is the truth of God? would we be able to recognize it when we see it? and if we did, would we act accordingly or would we treat the truth with disdain? or, would we rather succumb to cultural, social, and political pressures and uphold what everyone else believes?
basic questions as: who am I? how did life begin? where do we find our origin? why am i unique from everyone else? what is my purpose on earth? what happens when i die? whose standard does evil deviate from? what is the solution to the constant bickering and misunderstanding that ends life prematurely?
while many turn more to science to find all the answers, the truth can only be discerned in the word of God.
God’s word, found in scriptures, is the truth. and, God is Himself the origin and source of all truth.
faced with the truth, what are we to do?
“we come up to the truth of God, confess we are wrong, but go back again. then we approach it again and turn back. God may bring us up to this point three hundred and sixty-five times a year, but He cannot push us through it until we finally learn we have no business going back.” — My Utmost For His Highest
the truth of God becomes the authority of our lives. meaning, we act on it, live by it, and manifest it in every aspect of our daily living.
and whatever else that leads us astray, away from the truth, and deceives us to believe otherwise is not God’s. and whatever is not God’s only gives us the runaround.
“sigh… Lord, help me in this, please. by the power of the Holy Spirit, grant me, my family, my loved ones, and the whole world, for that matter, the grace to commit to live by Your truth. amen.”
