there is nothing thrilling about praying. no wonder it often takes a backseat not just to our work but even to our pastime and recreation.
yet we are taught in the reading today that without it, we cannot grow in grace and God cannot work His miracles on us. thus, praying is a duty. it is not to prepare us to greater works, it is THE work.
sometimes the circumstances we find ourselves in put us in no mood at all for praying. we are either unconvinced that it would do us any good, we are angry how God could ever do it to us, or we are too busy trying our damnedest to revert our situation.
“whatever your circumstances, you should pray, continually offering up prayers to Him. And He promises, “Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do . . .” (John 14:13). — My Utmost For His Highest
there you go. God ALWAYS, ALWAYS keeps His promises… He is ALWAYS, ALWAYS true to His word. so all this difficulty, stress, rejection, and pain you are experiencing today? they, too, will pass with the power of prayer.
“my Lord God, i love You. thank You for this time with You.”
