it is not my task to save souls. that is Christ’s. nor was it ever God’s desire that i should, anyway. my task and yours has always been to just “go and make disciples of all men.”
today’s reading tells us that the “go” mentioned here by Christ simply means to live.
how? as witnesses to the Lord by abiding in Him and His words in us — all by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:8) and, when the going gets rough, making us weary and burdened, we “come” to Him, exactly as Jesus said. (Matthew 11:28)
“where we are placed is then a matter of indifference to us, because God sovereignly engineers our goings. ‘however, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.’ (Acts 20:24)….
and, that is how to keep going until we are gone from this life.” — My Utmost For His Highest
“my Lord, i pray that i may never lose sight of Your desire for me amidst opportunities, blessings, disappointments, and the highs and lows You send my way. help me to remember that all i should really care about and focus on is Your word and Your teachings which are to be the example of how i am live to my life. WWJD?
guide me, my dearest, that i may always abide in You. i pray for the same for my children and loved ones. amen.”
