Thursday, September 29: The Awareness of the Call

God’s general call to everyone is to be a witness for Him.   and, the testimony of a personal experience is the best witness, the best testimony, and the best response possible we can ever give.

when we testify from our convictions the truth of God’s promises and His Word, that leaves little or no ground at all for doubt or suspicion.  and many will be drawn.

Jesus said, “Come, follow me.” (Matthew 4:19)  the most important thing to remember is that we are first called to a Person — to a personal and intimate relationship with Christ.   one  of mutual love, trust,  loyalty, faith, and good.

there are different types of calling:  the call to salvation, the call to holiness,  the call to full-time ministry, and the call to a particular task.

“If a man or woman is called of God, it doesn’t matter how difficult the circumstances may be. God orchestrates every force at work for His purpose in the end. If you will agree with God’s purpose, He will bring not only your conscious level but also all the deeper levels of your life, which you yourself cannot reach, into perfect harmony.”  — My Utmost for His Highest

“my Lord God,  I pray that i may be a blessing to someone today.  through Your Holy Spirit,  lead me closer to You that i may hear Your call and follow You and in doing so, bring You joy and glorify You in my daily life.  i pray for my children and loved ones that they, too, may hear Your voice and turn to You in all.  amen.”

Once we answer that initial call, we must realize what we have committed to. So many just stop after they answered the call and don’t dive in to their new relationship and stay committed. The Apostles and the other disciples that knew Christ and followed Him, kept following Him, no matter what the cost after they answered His call. They are good examples to learn from in the Bible. Praying many more answer His call, before it is too late and that they follow Him the rest of their lives.
