Saturday, September 10: Missionary Weapons (1)

danger constantly looms in the horizon.  everyday we are threatened by ever-deceiving tactics of the evil one, the desires of the flesh, the lures of an immoral society, and the demands of a materialistic world —  our enemies which the bible is quite clear about.

in this perilous world, complacency just won’t cut it when real crisis comes.   what are we to do when the works of the evil one come against us?

we must keep up the good work of faith. (Galatians 6:9)   we hold fast on the promises of Christ and His Word… focus on what is good, true, and pure.

God’s training ground for bigger battles is what we do NOW with the tasks at hand.  we don’t become prepared just by relying on our perceived strengths.  these strengths need to be developed and honed.

how?  by nurturing and maintaining a personal relationship with Christ…. through dedication and perseverance in worshiping God many times a day…  vigilance in upholding the doctrines of Christ, in obeying His commandments of love, and in consistently choosing right over wrong even with  what seems little, harmless things.

this may often be difficult to do but we are charged never to give up and allow the cares of the world to overcome us.   Christ desires that we grow in faith, produce good traits, and be always on guard against anything that hinders our growth.

this is what will keep us spiritually fit.

“it is not the crisis that builds something within us— it simply reveals what we are made of.  crisis reveals the person’s true character.”  — My Utmost For His Highest

“my dear Holy Spirit, watch over me.  I consecrate my days and nights to You…. my family and all my loved ones.  God is my King and my All!”
