June 28, Tuesday: Held By The Grip of God

“There must be unflinching faithfulness to the Word of God, but when you come to personal dealings with others, remember who you are— you are not some special being created in heaven, but a sinner saved by grace.”  — My Utmost For His Highest

just when i thought i was safe as a child of God — promptly saved, beautifully overhauled, and eagerly conveying my testimony of God’s handiwork in me, i found my old self exposing its ugly head again.

my everyday experiences are not reflecting His fine work in me.  no, they’re not.  i wonder when i am ever going to be suited and ready for God to use.

“jesus, my wonderful Lord, please never tire of working on me until i become totally pleasing to You, my beautiful Lover, my divine Spouse and my best Friend.  take control of me and refine me so that i may spend the remainder of my life exhibiting Your love and work of salvation.  all this i ask for the glory of Your name, sweet Jesus.”
